Pop front cover
Pop’s target audience is uni sex but is mostly aimed at young girls, as the genre is associated more with pop music featuring heartthrob boy bands.

The price and date is written next to the barcode at the top right hand corner, it’s hard to see but then this way it can’t put the reader of buying it for example if they can’t see the date then they won’t know if it’s already been out a week or the price then they won’t worry about the price the main focus will be what’s on it and the content will determine the buy not the price.
This magazine uses a range of different fonts and uses mostly serif fonts making the whole magazine appear to be for a younger age with curly writing and it seems more girly, but the magazine is still clear to read. The main colour scheme is blue; pink and yellow. The mast head is big and bold so it stands out, it’s written in pink and then it’s got a thin white outline on a blue background having the white outline around the word makes it stand out even more. The masthead is in the centre but leans a little to the left which is the dominant side. Its got a sparkle on the last letter this is important as it shows its targeted at a younger audience as it has sparkles on it It also has a explanation mark with a heart which also suggest for young girls reading.

There are three pictures on the front of the magazine with them getting smaller its assumed Justin Bieber  is the main picture even though his positioned on the right, the picture is a mid-shot and shows him wearing a purple and checked black shirt which shows his fashionable and the young girls want to see a heartthrob. The second picture is of popular boy band JLS who appear on the left hand side of the magazine, having two boy bands on the front cover suggest the magazine is for girls as their both ‘heartthrobs’ the third picture is of Cheryl Cole which is on the better left.
Pop’s magazine front cover is divided into 3 main sections horizontally and vertically using the principle of thirds. The  top half focuses on the masthead and the main picture Justin Bieber the two most important parts. The second section the middle half is of the second most important picture JLS, the third section the bottom half focuses on the third picture Cheryl Cole and the smaller cover lines. The magazine does consist of an order it has three pictures spread over most of the magazine each getting smaller and then smaller cover lines at the bottom of the magazine.

The Route of the eye represents the where the readers eyes focus on and on this front cover it starts at masthead> Justin Bieber’s eyes> Justin Bieber’s smile> threw Cheryl Cole and threw the free posters.
At the top and bottom of the magazine is two yellow bands which stand out against the background blue and this is important as their both advertising free gifts, which is an extremely effective way to get people to buy the magazine as they know their getting something back from the magazine.
