NME double page spread
This is an NME double page spread of ‘pulled apart by horses’, one page consists of pictures of them and the other an article on them and then it has a side section of pictures of other bands. The picture of the band is on the left page this is the dominant side so you can easily see who the article is about.
The quotes are highlighted in italics and their either used to shock or make people laugh, this makes people want to read the article.

The bands appearance is very indie which makes the reader be able to relate to them they have tattoos, indie style t-shirts, long hair, they are wearing fashionable clothes which shows that they are a fashionable band and can relate to the audience well as they fit in and therefore you believe that they would play good music. The text is in black on a white back ground this makes it easier and clearer to read. The important parts such as the mast head, quotes and sidebar have an orange background to make them stand out even more. The way the band are positioned is them all messing around holding one of the band members its makes them look, fun and childish this relates to the younger generation which this magazines target audience is.
The background is a wall making it realistic and it’s a natural setting which shows a mature side for the older audience.

The mode of address is informal the use slang words, the article is always directed to you the audience.
The other images are of the band getting tattoos done this shows their young and having fun and this would relate to the audience because it’s a realistic thing. The font used is smaller as its more detailed the cover lines and masthead are bigger and bolder so they draw your attention to the article and make you want to read it and the article explains it.

The mast head breaks into the second page a bit, backed with orange it breaks a bit of colour into the second page which is mainly black on white colour and it makes the mast head stand out more as its over two pages.
